Tired of putting your daughters hair in just braids? Bored with ponytails? Why not create a Heart Crown Braid? This Braid allows your child’s hair to be pulled out and away from their face, and retain the beautiful length you worked so hard to keep. The Heart Crown Braid will catch the attention of many on looking mothers, as the wonder just how you pulled that off. This Braid will be a great way to make your little girl feel special and unique.

A Braid is also know as a Plait, its typically a pattern formed by intertwining multiple strands of hair together. Braiding can be a complex structure from a Five Strand Braid, Four strand braid to a simple weave like the Traditional Three Strand Braid.

This Heart Crown Braid is not a complex structure but does require the knowledge of steps to achieve this beautiful, adorable and easy hairstyle for your little girl. You can accessorize this kid approved hairstyle with a beautiful bow, clips, jeweled bobby pins, flowers or a headband.

How To Create A Heart Crown Braid

  • Start with clean Shampooed and conditioned hair, towel dry.
  • Brush any tangles out.
  • Create a half ponytail
  • Split the half ponytail with your finger right above the elastic creating a hole.
  • Guide the ponytail under and up through that hole (like a topsy tail)
  • This will create a natural twist in your half pony tail.
  • Divide the ponytail into two equal sections.
  • Braid the two sections (if you are a skilled braid enthusiast try a Four Strand Braid), if your daughter is not yet old enough to hold the hair for you secure with an elastic.
  • Take the ends of the braids and meet at the bottom, you can make any size heart you prefer big or small, secure with an elastic.
  • You may want to use bobby pins to secure the hair in place.
  • Use a little bit of hairspray to tame those pesky flyaways!
