Want a cute hairstyle that pulls your daughters hair tightly away from her face? This Hairstyle is kid approved for those active days. This Hairstyle gets its name from, well, the tail of a pony or horse, and the chevron diamonds you will create. Ponytails are always a go-to fashion for our daughters as they take little or no effort to create. But this Chevron style allows for diversity and uniqueness. Its not the normal boring ponytail, it will be the talk among her friends and she will be happy to share this easy hairstyle as it can be easily self done, it could be a hairstyle you can teach her to do on her own. This is a hair design that can be worn at any age, but just has a more playful characteristic more suitable for kids.
How to Create a Chevron Ponytail
- Assure all your tools are nearby for easier use. You will need a brush, a rubber band, some elastics (the amount depends on how many chevron diamonds you want to create down your hair.) and some hairspray to help with your flyaways.
- As Always begin with clean shampooed and conditioned hair.
- Towel dry your hair or blow dry your hair, avoid damaging your hair by over heating it.
- Create a ponytail where you desire. Secure with the rubber band.
- Use a small section of hair to wrap around the rubber band to conceal it.
- Begin making your chevron diamonds.
- Grab a small section from the back sides of the ponytail, pull them around the ponytail loosely to sit on the front secure them with an elastic. Add a twist to the Chevron diamond to add a little distinguishing mark to it, by flipping it under its self (like a Topsy tail).
- Repeat the previous step down the desired length of your ponytail. Securing with small elastics.
The Chevron Ponytail can be accessorized just like any other style, a variation of jeweled bobby pins, flowers, and clips will compliment this style very nicely. You can add regular bobby pins to your finished product to add extra support, as well as your chosen hairspray product to help tame those pesky flyaways!
